چکیده
The aim of the present paper is to assess non-destructive indicating properties Slovenian beech (Fagus sylvatica) logs and correlate them with mechanical final product, which boards. Beech were visually graded according standard procedure vibrational frequencies measured. Logs further on sawn into boards also non-destructively tested in wet dry conditions. Finally, experimentally tension. Special focus was directed towards visual parameters their influence overall quality output material. longitudinal natural studied as potential properties. results showed that a majority log grading do not result good timber terms strength stiffness properties, only few are decisive for classification. coefficient determination static MOE vs. dynamic r2=0.13, whereas r2=0.49. Using characteristics combination measurements could help increase yield high wood.

Studies on European beech (Fagus sylvatica L
Colour parameters of European beech were measured using CIELab system. 103 logs from 87 trees in 9 sites were cut into boards to study the variations of wood colour parameters. Both site and tree effect on colour were observed. Patterns of red heartwood occurrence were defined. When excepting red heartwood there was still a highly significant effect of site and tree; differences remained after ...

Resilient Leaf Physiological Response of European Beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) to Summer Drought and Drought Release
Drought is a major environmental constraint to trees, causing severe stress and thus adversely affecting their functional integrity. European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) is a key species in mesic forests that is commonly expected to suffer in a future climate with more intense and frequent droughts. Here, we assessed the seasonal response of leaf physiological characteristics of beech saplings t...
متن کاملDraft genome of the oomycete pathogen Phytophthora cactorum strain LV007 isolated from European beech (Fagus sylvatica)
Phytophthora cactorum is a broad host range phytopathogenic oomycete. P. cactorum strain LV007 was isolated from a diseased European Beech (Fagus sylvatica) in Malmö, Sweden in 2016. The draft genome of P. cactorum strain LV007 is 67.81 Mb. It contains 15,567 contigs and 21,876 predicted protein-coding genes. As reported for other phytopathogenic Phytophthora species, cytoplasmic effector prote...
متن کاملFate of recently fixed carbon in European beech (Fagus sylvatica) saplings during drought and subsequent recovery.
Drought reduces the carbon (C) assimilation of trees and decouples aboveground from belowground carbon fluxes, but little is known about the response of drought-stressed trees to rewetting. This study aims to assess dynamics and patterns of C allocation in beech saplings under dry and rewetted soil conditions. In October 2010, 5-year-old beech saplings from a forest site were transplanted into ...
